Coach Asaki Carr

Assistant Head Coach

Began track career at the age of 10 with the Royal Knights Athletic Association running for her grandfather Michael Carr.  Started off as a 400/800m runner but transitioned into hurdling my junior year of high school at Parkway West.  I competed in the 100m hurdles and 300m/400m hurdles and the 4x400m relay placing 3rd and 6th at the Missouri State High School Championship. I continued to run through her junior year of college on a track scholarship at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville helping my team win the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship and eventually qualifying for the Division II National Championships in the 100m hurdles.  I began coaching with the Royal Knights at the age of 18 and eventually went on to start my own track team based in Alton, IL called Madison County Beasts Athletics (MCBA).  In 2020 I decided to step away from MCBA and began coaching with the St. Louis Scorpions Track Club.

In addition to coaching summer/AAU track, I also coached at the high school level.  I started as an assistant coach at Alton High School from 2009-2017 where I helped coach the team to a 2nd place overall finish at the Illinois High School State T&F Championship.  Afterwards, I became the head coach at Hazelwood Central High School in 2017 in where I lead the team to a 2nd place overall finish at the Missouri High School State T&F Championship. In 2018 I also became apart of the coaching staff for Team Missouri for the Great Southwest Classic track meet held annually in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  From 2018-2020 I coached at Riverview Gardens High School .  Currently I am the head girls track coach as well as the head cross country coach at McCluer North High School.

I have had a lot of success as an athlete and as a coach, and some of my proudest moments now include watching my two children, Michael Clark and Abrielle McFadden, compete in the sport that has always been so near and dear to my heart.
